A total solar eclipse was visible at the north part of Atlantic Ocean, Nordic Sea and Arctic Sea, March 20, 2015. It reached the peak in Iceland, central phase lasted 2min 47s.  In Birmingham the event was visible between 8.30 and 10.30am, with the peak at 9.30. Plenty of people gathered at 7th floor of Birmingham Library to watch and bear witness to the last solar eclipse visible in Europe until the eclipse of August 12, 2026.    

The grande finale of my year-long scholarship in USA was an epic trip across the west coast of America. A trip – legend, a must-do for cliche-chasing tourists, a must-see of Keurack enthusisasts. We started from San Francisco; went down through 5 line highways to glamorous Los Angeles, then took right towards the lights of Las Vegas. Three iconic cities and everything what was in between. In between there was a miraculuous nature – tremendous Sierra Nevada, mountains facing to the Atlantic Ocean. There were sequoia trees, as high that they make you think there are a ladder to heaven. There were desserts of Nevada with a moon landscape and the most imaginative sculptures of wind erosion. Legends. At that point of my life I had just rediscovered my love to black and white photography , that – despite being deprived of colours – was able to show the most stunning tones. #13 Still life bookeh Something as simple as a crumpled piece of foil can be the basis for a creative photo project. Position a still-life subject on a sheet of glass with a piece of dark material underneath it. Scrunch up the kitchen foil then smooth it back out and place it in the background. Shine a table lamp or torch on the foil and, with a tripod mounted camera, dial in the lens’s widest aperture.
