5000 years of history and one day of trip. We took a wrong side of the road with our posh fiat500 and went straight to Amesbury. We proved googlemaps wrong and drove 4 hours instead of 2.  And then, as Lonely Planet recommended: 'if there's only one city outside of London to visit, make it Bath'. Reflection: why both them are the not typically English cities :)

A total solar eclipse was visible at the north part of Atlantic Ocean, Nordic Sea and Arctic Sea, March 20, 2015. It reached the peak in Iceland, central phase lasted 2min 47s.  In Birmingham the event was visible between 8.30 and 10.30am, with the peak at 9.30. Plenty of people gathered at 7th floor of Birmingham Library to watch and bear witness to the last solar eclipse visible in Europe until the eclipse of August 12, 2026.
